Janne Østergaard Hagelquist (DK)

Janne Østergaard Hagelquist is an authorised psychologist and an accredited specialist in child psychology and supervision. She is also an author and has written several books, including The Mentalization Guidebook and Mentalization with Neglected and Traumatized Children, along with numerous other publications on mentalization and trauma in work with vulnerable children, young people, and adults.

Throughout her career, Janne has been committed to making knowledge about trauma and mentalization accessible and applicable in everyday practice. She is the founder of the Center for Mentalization, which offers both a Danish website (www.centerformentaliserings.dk) and an English website (www.centerformentalization.com) featuring a wide range of free materials aimed at supporting practitioners facing everyday challenges.

Janne Østergaard Hagelquist and her team at the Center for Mentalization work closely with social educators on a daily basis, providing training, teaching, and supervision in residential care institutions, treatment settings, and psychiatric departments.

Janne has dedicated her professional life to bridging theory and practice, providing concrete tools to strengthen the work with vulnerable and traumatized individuals.
